Tournament Mode
General Rulings
- Every teams consists of 3 players regardless their gender
- A player cannot be rated higher than 5.199 DUPR
- During group stage on Friday and Saturday, each team plays each other within the group at least once
- The best teams (4 or 8, depending on participating teams) move on to the knockout stage on Sunday
- The players in each team are sorted from best to worst depending on their DUPR at registration deadline (1 = best, 2 = middle, 3 = worst)
- Substitutes are not allowed except in case of injury and after approval of the tournament director. Their DUPR shall be lower than the original player’s
Competition Format
- The APC Team Event consists of Rounds, Matches and Games
- Each Round consists of three Best-of-three Matches against another team. Even if one team wins the first two Matches, the third Match will be played
- Each Match consists of two or three games, depending on the result. If one team wins the first two games, the Match is over
- Each Game is played up to 11, win by 2. Golden Point at 15, one timeout per team, switch sides in the third game at six
- The matchups for each round are pre-determined: players 1&3 then 1&2, lastly 2&3 are facing their counterparts
- Every player will have a minimum of 12 sets
Scoring
- During the group phase, teams earn one APC point for:
- Every game won
- Every match won
- Every round won
- Example: Team A versus Team B in a Round:
- Matchup 1 – Players 1&3: 11-6, 11-8, 4-11
- Game Points: 2:1
- Match Points: 1:0
- Matchup 2 – Players 1&2: 2-11, 11-13
- Game Points: 0:2
- Match Points: 0:1
- Matchup 3 – Players 2&3: 15-14, 9-11, 11-7
- Game Points: 2:1
- Match Points: 1:0
- Round Points: 1:0
- Points Total for this Matchup:
- Team A: 7 (2+1+0+2+1+1) APC points
- Team B: 5 (1+2+1+1) APC points
- Matchup 1 – Players 1&3: 11-6, 11-8, 4-11
- After the group stage, teams will be ranked by APC points. If there is a tie, the face-to-face matchup shall decide. If not possible, playing point differentials and lastly playing points won will be considered
- In the elimination stage, the team that wins two matches moves on to the next round. The third match of that round does not have to be played unless each team won a match
Game Day Procedure
- Teams need to announce their captain who is responsible for picking up the round sheet and filling in the results
- Both team captains must report to the tournament desk. The first captain arriving does not receive the sheet but is marked as ready. The second team captain arriving receives the round sheet.
- Each round is played entirely on the given court, match after match
- The winning team must return the round sheet to the tournament desk after the last game is played
