How to sign up as a team
Either in the Tournated App or on play.rtapickleballtour.com
First, create your team
- Login
- Go to Profile > My Teams
- Hit “Create Team”
- Choose your team name, select sport “Pickleball” and add team members either from partners list or by a using the email addresses of your team mates, the addresses must be the once used for their Tournated accounts.
- You must be either “Captain” or “Playing Captain”
- Press “Create”
Then register your team in the tournament
- Navigate to the event (https://play.rtapickleballtour.com/tournament/9820)
- Click on “Register”
- Select “Team”, then Next
- Select your team and the players, minimum 4 and maximum 5
- Click “Add 4/5 members from [your team name]
- Continue and pay
Tournament Mode
General Rulings
- Every teams consists of 4-5 players
- 2 female and 2 male players, 5th player of any gender
- Max DUPR for players 5.199 DUPR
- Every Round:
- Max DUPR for team: 14.000 (sum of three players playing the match-up)
- 1 woman and 1 man, third person of any gender
- During group stage on Friday and Saturday, each team plays each other within the group once
- The best teams (4 or 8, depending on number of participating teams) move on to the knockout stage on Sunday
- Substitutes are not allowed except in case of injury and after approval of the tournament director. Their DUPR shall be lower than the original player’s
Competition Format
- The APC Team Event consists of Rounds, Matches and Games
- Each Round consists of three Best-of-three Matches against another team. Even if one team wins the first two Matches, the third Match will be played
- Each Match consists of two or three games, depending on the result. If one team wins the first two games, the Match is over
- Each Game is played up to 11, win by 2. Golden Point at 15, one timeout per team, switch sides in the third game at six
Selecting Players
- Before a round starts the playing team must be defined and written down on the score card.
- The playing team must have a total DUPR of max. 14.000 (the DUPR found in the entries of the tournament, which is last read at registration end date/time)
- The playing team must have one woman and one man playing, the third player may be of either gender
Scoring
- During the group phase, teams earn one APC point for:
- Every game won
- Every match won
- Every round won
- Example: Team A versus Team B in a Round:
- Matchup 1 – Players 1&3: 11-6, 11-8, 4-11
- Game Points: 2:1
- Match Points: 1:0
- Matchup 2 – Players 1&2: 2-11, 11-13
- Game Points: 0:2
- Match Points: 0:1
- Matchup 3 – Players 2&3: 15-14, 9-11, 11-7
- Game Points: 2:1
- Match Points: 1:0
- Round Points: 1:0
- Points Total for this Matchup:
- Team A: 7 (2+1+0+2+1+1) APC points
- Team B: 5 (1+2+1+1) APC points
- Matchup 1 – Players 1&3: 11-6, 11-8, 4-11
- After the group stage, teams will be ranked by APC points. If there is a tie, the set ratio and point ratio decide, then face-to-face matchup
- In the elimination stage, the team that wins two matches moves on to the next round. The third match of that round does not have to be played unless each team won a match
Game Day Procedure
- Teams need to announce their captain who is responsible for picking up the round sheet and filling in the results
- Both team captains must report to the tournament desk. The first captain arriving does not receive the sheet but is marked as ready. The second team captain arriving receives the round sheet.
- Each round is played entirely on the given court, match after match
- The winning team must return the round sheet to the tournament desk after the last game is played
